Good Stuff

Recipe Swaps and albums

A few of my friends have been making inquires about how to do the recipe cards I have been making for the recipe swaps I have been involved with.
Most of the cards are 8 x 8 but 6 x 6 will work. One sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock yields 4 - 6 x 6 cards and 8 1/2 x 11 yields one 8 x 8 card. Each card is at least one sheet of cardstock with the recipe printed on the cardstock, vellum, or other quality paper product. NEVER ON WHITE PAPER. The cards are embellished with stamps, flowers, stickers or other items that reflect the recipe and the style of the artist creating the cards.

The album I was lucky enough to find was a K and Company 8 x 8, 3 ring binder, with 5 sections, and 10 page protectors. A place on the front for a pic or embellishment (which I have not done yet.)

Enjoy and i hope others jump on this bandwagon of scrapping our family recipes.

Recipe cards for Dog treat swap.

Here are the two recipes I submitted to the Dog treat swap on the Cricut Message board. The swap was hosted by Mungee. I did the cards in reverse, using the negitive of the criuct cuts. The second sheet of paper is showing through the cuts. For the apples I added red paper under the cuts. Used Bic Markers for apple leaves, eyes and noses. Enjoy.

Calenders for my Friends

I saw on the Cricut Message board that some creative person made Post it note holders from Acrylic picture frames. I took the idea and went one step further and created these calenders for Christmas gifts in 2009.
Added to the idea is a pen attached with a hot glue gun and a calender. Each one also has a clip of some sort to attach those important notes we have to many of. The Pens can be personalized to match the paper because they open up on the end and you can place a small piece of paper in the pen tube and then put the ink back in and close it up. You can also add a "frame around where the calender is located so in future years you could use it as a frame for a pic. Happy crafting and Happy 2010.
